FAQ

Our most frequent questions and answers

No, you must either all ski or all snowboard in the lesson. You can book another instructor if some of your group want to learn a different activity. The instructor needs to demonstrate on the same equipment as you.

Everyone learns at a different pace, however the majority of people should achieve a novice level of skiing over a few days. You could have an initial goal of being able to make in control turns down a green slope, off the chair lift, over a 2-3 day period. One half day lesson is insufficient to learn to ski. You will not be taken up the chair lift in that time.  Full day lessons are best and give you a good chance of progressing to turning on day one, especially if you are a group. Only have one day? Make it a full day private lesson.

A good learn to ski plan would be to book 2-3 full days of lessons.

A very young child needs one on one attention. They often need to be physically supported by the instructor to get started. It is not practical to teach adults to ski at the same time as a small child. So we do not do it. You should book a second instructor for your small children, or a child 5 years and under, can be booked into Skiwiland childcare, which includes a  ski lesson.

If you have adult support for the child, (who are not skiing, themselves), then thy can have some learning time with the instructor, and then be cared for while the adults learn separately. This is only possible for full day lesson booking.

Mixed ages or ability in a lesson can be false economy. Best to have seperate instructors for children and adults.
